Rectifiers are used as the Impressed Current source in the Cathodic Protection against Corrosion (such as rust) of metals like aluminum, steel and reinforced concrete. These mateials are used to make boats, ships, bridges, pilings, buildings, propane tanks, gasoline tanks, water tanks, natural gas pipelines, petroleum pipelines, and water piplelines. The rectifier Direct Current (DC) output is connected to the metal structure (cathode) and to a metalic groundbed (anode).
